Introduction to Rayware Software

We are going to talk about Rayware.

Starting, we have the Sprintray program.  You have downloaded this already. When you open Rayware for the very first time you will be greeted by the settings screen.  It is important to look at the screen’s setting default.  It is originally set at S100 setting, not the Pro95 setting.  You always want to make sure you switch over to Pro95 to ensure that you are going to be printing at the right machine.

Next up is our material setting.  We have Surgical Guide 2 selected, but each material has its own profile, meaning it cures different; it has its own cure times and speeds.  Please make sure that whenever you are using the resins, you have the right material selected (more…)

Important lessons about supports and distortion

Be careful when you are pressing the print button.

The support pillars will generate automatically.  The algorithm is set so that the model will be successfully printed in any orientation.  There will be no distortion with the supports that are generated automatically.  The biggest thing to look out for when generating models is if the supports will generate inside any of the holes.  If the supports automatically input inside the holes of your model you are able to edit the supports.  Access the tool bar on the left-hand side, select the bottom function and “Edit Supports.”  The highlighted red will show which supports are selecting for editing.  Here you can move or even delete the support.  However, if a support is deleted, it is highly recommended that one is added nearby to prevent distortion during printing.

Queue and print buttons for sprintray

The first button is “Save Print Job” function.  If there is no internet connection, you can select the “Save Print Job” function which will allow for all the materials and orientations to be saved as a “.SPR” file.  The file will be saved under the name given bellow the “Print Job Name.”  The “.SPR” file […]

Orientation and effect on print time with sprintray

Here we will discuss the efficiency of Rayware and how to interact with models.   The time of print largely depends on layer thickness.  By changing from 50 to 100 to ludicrous (175) the print time will be cut in half for each change.  The time to print is dependent on the tallest structure.  The […]

Printed mua transfer abutments

Check to make sure the computer and the printer are on the same network.  Firewall issues may prevent direct communication between the printer and computer.  Ensure the proper printer is selected.  Select the “Queue Print” function over the “Print” function.  Printing on top of existing projects can cause severe damage to the machine.  Therefore, the […]
